About EV Aussie
EV Aussie is an independent, owner-run guide for people who drive, or are thinking about driving, an electric car in Australia.
It's run by an everyday Tesla Model 3 RWD owner in Melbourne's west. No car company, charging network or retailer owns or funds the site.
Why it exists
Lots of Australians are buying their first EV, and the same questions come up again and again on Reddit, Whirlpool, owner forums and social media. What does it really cost to run? Will the public charger work? Can I charge in my apartment or rental? Is a novated lease worth it? The answers are out there, but they're scattered. EV Aussie pulls them together into practical, plain-English guides.
How we work
- Sources linked. When we quote a number, we link where it came from. Where something is reported but not yet confirmed on an official page, we say so.
- Dates shown. Prices, plans and rules change, so pages show when they were last checked.
- Real ownership. Where we can, we share real owner experience rather than spec-sheet claims.
- Honest about money. If we earn from a link, we'll tell you. See our affiliate disclosure.
Not advice
Everything on EV Aussie is general information, not financial, tax, legal or electrical advice. Check official sources and talk to a qualified professional about your situation. Home charger installs must be done by a licensed electrician.
